I have come to discover that many items we have in abundance in our homes can be used to save us from deadly diseases and keep us healthy, but most people do not use them effectively and consistently.


You will be surprised to see how beneficial they could be to you if you can make it a part of your life by using them. Because of the importance of these common items we have readily available in our markets and sometimes in our homes, you should start making judicious use of them. 


I am aware also that many people use these items in their houses but may not be consistent and deliberate in using them. That is why in our next series, we shall take time to discuss those items that are very helpful for maintaining good health and could prolong our lifespan.


One of such items is Ginger which contains compounds that have been shown to improve blood flow of blood and reduce inflammation, which can be beneficial for vein health as well. Today we shall start with one of them, which is GINGER.


MEDICAL BENEFITS OF USING GINGER:


Ginger is a commonly used spice in various cuisines around the world. It is also used for its medicinal properties, particularly in traditional and alternative medicine. 


USE GINGER TO TREAT NAUSEA AND VOMITING:


Ginger has been used as a natural remedy for nausea and vomiting for centuries. It contains compounds called gingerols and shogaols that have anti-inflammatory and antiemetic properties, which may help to soothe the stomach and reduce the sensation of nausea. Ginger has been found to be effective in reducing nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy, chemotherapy, and surgery.


VARIOUS WAYS GINGER CAN BE USED TO TREAT NAUSEA AND VOMITING:


USE GINGER AS TEA:


Brew a cup of ginger tea by steeping freshly grated ginger in hot water for 5-10 minutes. You can add honey or lemon to improve the taste. Drink the tea when it cools down enough to be comfortable to drink.


GINGER  CAPSULES OR SUPPLEMENTS:


Ginger supplements, such as capsules or tablets, can be purchased at health food stores or online. Follow the recommended dosage instructions on the package.


GINGER ALE OR FINGER BEER:


These beverages contain ginger extract, which can help soothe the stomach. However, be sure to choose a ginger ale or ginger beer that contains real ginger and not just ginger flavoring.


GINGER CANDY OR CHEWS:


Ginger candy or chews can be found at health food stores or online. These can be helpful for relieving mild nausea and can be taken as needed.

Ginger can be prepared in a variety of ways, depending on your preference and the intended use. 


SOME WAYS TO PREPARE GINGER:


FRESH GINGER TEA:


This is one of the simplest and most popular ways to prepare ginger. Simply slice fresh ginger root and steep it in boiling water for a few minutes. You can also add honey, lemon, or other herbs to enhance the flavor.


GINGER-INFUSED OIL:


To make ginger-infused oil, heat grated ginger root in oil (such as olive oil or coconut oil) over low heat for about 30 minutes. Strain out the ginger and use the oil for cooking or as a massage oil.


GINGER POWDER:


Ground ginger can be used in a variety of dishes, such as curries, stir-fries, and baked goods. You can also mix it with hot water to make a quick ginger tea.


PRICKLED GINGER:


Pickled ginger, also known as sushi ginger, is often served as a palate cleanser with sushi. You can buy it pre-made or make your own by slicing fresh ginger root and soaking it in a mixture of vinegar, sugar, and salt.


GINGER JUICE:


Ginger juice can be extracted by blending fresh ginger root and straining the mixture through a cheesecloth. It can be used in marinades, dressings, and smoothies.
