BAYELSA STATE NASU LEADERSHIP VISITS PPSB; SYNERGISES FOR EFFIECIENCY AND SERVICE DELIVERY TOWARDS EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT

The leadership of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) in Bayelsa State have paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Post Primary Schools Board (PPSB), High Chief Millionaire Asangba.

State Chairman of NASU, Engr. Nengiyefa Nelson Ebimie, flanked by other members of his executive, acknowledged the good works of Chief Millionaire Asangba as the PPSB boss, and called on him to do more for non teaching staff of the board.
Engr. Nelson-Ebimie emphasized the need for synergy with non academic staff of the board to enable them achieve set objectives as custodians of the administrative and security demands of the board.

Appreciating Governor Diri for the ongoing recruitment of teaching staff through the PPSB, he advocated a similar gesture for non academic staff so as to create an equilibrium in the secondary school education sector. 
Responding, the Chairman of PPSB, High Chief Asangba, stated that the government is currently recruiting non academic staff sourced  from the local communities to augment the shortfall of manpower in that regard in the areas of security, cleaners and other junior cadre non teaching staff for secondary schools across the state.

"The move is to empower the local people and give them a sense of belonging to be part of governance through employment so that rural and urban schools can be adequately protected and seen as the people's property." Chief Asangba assured.
The team was led by the PPSB Branch Chairman, Comrade Dike Samson Nyanate, who spoke glowingly of the cordial relationship between the union and the board management. 

Comrade Dike sued for better collaboration to ensure that non-teaching staff of the PPSB are continually given their pride of place as administrators in the secondary school system.
Others on the entourage of NASU included: a NEC member from Bayelsa Council, who doubles as an Accountant in SUBEB, Comrade Ebiwari Geku; the State Treasurer, who doubles as the NDU Branch Chairman of NASU, Comrade Peregue Werigbela; Comrade Ebifiye Etebu (Chairman of NASU Federal Polytechnic Ekowe (FPE) and Comrade Precious Digitemie (Chairman, NASU, PPSB Brass Unit).
Highpoint of the visit was the exchange of souvenirs between NASU and PPSB.
