Reports indicate that the attack happened around 7:40 AM. The Chief Security Officer of the OOPL notified the authorities that Daule had approached the lion’s enclosure to feed the animal. However, in a tragic turn of events, Daule allegedly failed to properly secure the locks and barricades of the lion’s enclosure before proceeding to feed the lion.
This critical lapse in safety protocols allowed the lion to escape from its enclosure and launch a fatal attack on Daule. The lion inflicted severe injuries, particularly to Daule's neck, which ultimately led to his death.
