Rebuttal to Baseless Attacks on Governor Douye Diri's Leadership: Exposing the Real Jobless Propagandists

.            Aye S. O. Egberi

It has become increasingly important to address the reckless and defamatory remarks made by one Aye S. O. Egberi, a jobless individual whose baseless allegations against Governor Douye Diri are not only laughable but also a clear display of his ignorance and misplaced anger. It is evident that Mr. Egberi, who seems to have no meaningful employment or purpose, spends his time hurling insults at a governor who has outshined his so-called "paymaster." Perhaps Mr. Egberi should take a moment to reassess his life choices or, as many would suggest, simply disappear into oblivion, rather than spreading lies and hatred.

Governor Douye Diri:

A Visionary Leader with Unmatched Achievements

While individuals like Egberi are busy tarnishing the governor's name, the facts speak for themselves. Governor Douye Diri has surpassed expectations in his governance of Bayelsa State, achieving milestones that his predecessor, Chief Timipre Sylva, could only dream of. Governor Diri’s accomplishments span across key sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic development. Unlike the chaotic and underwhelming tenure of Sylva, Governor Diri’s administration has brought real progress and prosperity to Bayelsans.

Economic Growth and Development Under Governor Diri

Contrary to Egberi’s baseless accusations, Governor Diri has effectively managed the state’s resources, ensuring that development is spread across all parts of Bayelsa. From major road constructions, bridges, and hospitals to revitalizing the educational system, Governor Diri has proven that he is a leader with vision, unlike the incompetent regime of his oga, which saw little to no meaningful development despite numerous promises.

Egberi’s Allegations on Workers’ Welfare: A Demonstration of Ignorance

Egberi’s claims about the alleged failure to implement the minimum wage are both misleading and ridiculous. The Diri administration has taken significant steps to improve workers' welfare, including salary adjustments and timely payments. What Egberi conveniently forgets is the economic hardship that his paymaster subjected Bayelsa workers to during his administration, when salaries were slashed and arrears were left unpaid. It is under Governor Diri’s leadership that these issues have been addressed.

Wasteful Spending? Egberi Should Check His Facts

Egberi’s assertion that the Diri administration engages in wasteful spending is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. The so-called 700 million naira for torchlights is a manufactured lie by desperate opponents who seek to distract from the real accomplishments of this administration. Governor Diri’s focus has always been on people-oriented projects that directly impact the lives of Bayelsans, such as the construction of critical infrastructure and the improvement of public services.

Governor Diri’s Legacy: A Clear Contrast to Sylva’s Failures

It is laughable that Egberi would compare the Sylva administration to Governor Diri’s leadership. While Sylva's regime was characterized by financial mismanagement, failed projects, and neglect of the people, Governor Diri has transformed Bayelsa into a state that is now a model of good governance. The roads, bridges, schools, and healthcare facilities built under Diri’s administration stand as undeniable evidence of his commitment to development.

Call Egberi to Order Now

Egberi is urged to cease spreading falsehoods about our esteemed Governor Douye Diri. Many of us have observed his gross misuse of press freedom for too long, and it is time he is called to order. While Sylva is generally a good man, allowing individuals like Egberi to use his name to disparage respected leaders such as Governor Diri has pushed otherwise restrained individuals to respond. It is crucial to maintain respectful discourse and uphold the dignity of our leaders

Conclusion:

Time for Egberi to Exit the Stage of Relevance

Aye S. Egberi’s continued attacks on Governor Douye Diri are nothing but the bitter rants of a jobless man whose only skill is to spread falsehoods. Rather than using his platform to contribute meaningfully to society, Egberi has chosen to be a tool for those who have nothing to offer Bayelsa State. The time has come for Egberi to take his own advice—either remain silent or perhaps find solace in Lagos by jumping into the Lagoon. Bayelsa State has no room for his lies and destructive rhetoric.

Bayelsans deserve leaders who are focused on progress, not individuals like Egberi, who thrive on chaos and misinformation. Governor Douye Diri’s record is clear, and his achievements speak louder than any baseless accusations
