WHAT IS CELLPHONE?

Cellphone is a wireless phone that uses computer equipment to move a call from one region to another and a network of low-power radio transmitters, each of which covers a separate geographic area (cell). This technology enables widespread portable phone service.

I • There is currently an international consensus that states neither cancer nor the rapid growth of preexisting tumors are caused by mobile phones. The development of cancer can take several years, if not decades. Population studies have only examined the health implications of cell phone use after a few years.

• The danger of traffic accidents is greatly increased while using a mobile phone while driving. In all Australian states and territories, using a hand-held phone while driving is prohibited.

THINGS TO KEEP IN YOIR MIND WHIKE USING CELL PHONE

Because there are so many people using mobile phones—an estimated five billion people worldwide—public worries about the potential negative impacts on health are frequently covered in the media. Medical researchers are concerned that given the widespread usage of mobile phones, even little health hazards could have a big impact on the general public's health.

It's critical to comprehend the dangers and potential consequences of mobile phone use before making a decision about your usage habit

THE USE IF MOBIKE PHONES AND YOUR HEALTH:

Radio-frequency (RF) radiation is used by mobile phones to connect to base stations. A high enough dose of RF radiation has a "thermal" impact, which means it increases body temperature. There are worries that the RF radiation that mobile phones emit, even at low doses, could result in headaches or brain tumors.

STUDY ON THE DANGERS OF MOBIKE PHONES TO HEALTH:

There is no definitive or convincing evidence, despite extensive international research, that using a cell phone would harm your health in the short or long term. However, RF radiation was labeled "probably carcinogenic for humans" by the World Health Organization (WHO) in May 2011 due to a higher risk of glioma, a form of brain cancer.

Following the publication of this WHO statement, several people demanded that mobile phone usage be approached "precautionary." The study is ongoing.

RADIATION AND THE USAGE OF MOBILE PHONES:

Electrical and magnetic energy combine to form radiation, which moves through space at the speed of light. Additionally, it is known as electromagnetic radiation (EMR).

DIVISION OF RADIATION

Radiation is divided into two major categories:

• Ionizing radiation (IR), which has the power to alter the body's atoms or molecules and cause tissue damage like cancer. X-rays and gamma rays are IR examples. • Non-ionizing radiation (NIR), which does not result in these modifications but can produce molecular vibration.

Other consequences, such as temperature increases, may result from this. Sunlight's ultraviolet rays, visible light, lightbulbs, infrared rays, microwave energy, and radiofrequency energy are a few examples of NIR.

HOW THE MOBILE PHONE NETWORK OPERATES:

The mobile phone system, which consists of the individual handset and the base stations, operates similarly to a two-way radio. For the widest coverage, base station antennae are set high above the ground (on a tower or roof). A radio transmitter and receiver are both included in a cell phone.

When you place a call, your phone communicates with a nearby base station using radiofrequency (RF) radiation transmitted by its antenna. Your signal is picked up by the base station, and your call is routed through the landline phone network.

Radiation from mobile phone base stations is generally steady. The amount of RF radiation that is emitted by the phones depends on three factors: how long you use the phone, how near you hold it to your body, and how close you are to the base station. The handset increases its radiation output to make up for a weak connectivity to the base station.

Your head is exposed to RF radiation levels from the handset that are 100–1,000 times greater than those from base stations.

SOME RULES FOR AUSTRALIAN MOBILE

 PHONE SYSTEM:

According to estimates, RF radiation from a mobile phone held against your ear will slightly warm a certain region of your face and, to a lesser extent, your brain. This is less than, say, the heating brought on by exercise. However, RF radiation at large doses damages biological tissues by overheating them.

Mobile phone RF radiation exposure limits in Australia are set much lower than the point at which any appreciable heating takes place. The Australian Communication and Media Authority (ACCMA) enforces the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) Standard RPS 3 for all mobile phones sold in Australia (ACMA

RESEARCH ON THE HEALTH EFFECT OF MOBILE PHONES:

Studies on RF radiation's impact on the body have been conducted all around the world. A biological effect, or an impact on the body, and a health effect are very different.

For instance, RF radiation from a cell phone has the biological impact of slightly increasing the temperature of a certain region of the brain. There are no inherent risks to one's health associated with this biological effect. The human body is capable of handling extremely large temperature fluctuations without suffering any negative effects.

THE USE Of MOBILE PHONES AND CANCER:

Since RF radiation is a non-ionizing kind of radiation, cancer cannot be brought on by it. There is no other biological mechanism via which RF radiation might be harmful.

OTHER POTENTIAL NEGATIVE HEALTH IMPACT OF MOBILE PHONES:

There are still questions to be answered about whether using a mobile phone can result in health issues other than cancer, but thus far, there are no known risks.

Other unintended negative impacts on health can result from using a mobile phone. Electronic devices, for instance: If they are susceptible to the field, RF radiation may interfere with medical electronic devices.

In hospital buildings, phones should be off.

TRAFFIC COLLISIONS

Research indicates that using a mobile phone while driving significantly raises the chance of collisions. In all Australian states and territories, using a hand-held phone while driving is prohibited.

PRECAUTIONS TO LESSEN EXPOSURE TO RADIATION FROM CELL PHONES:

If you're worried, you can lower your exposure to RF radiation by doing the following:

*Selecting a mobile phone model with a low specific absorption rate (SAR), which measures how much RF radiation is absorbed by body tissues; using a landline phone if one is available.

Cutting down on the length of your mobile phone calls; using a hands-free kit; not carrying your mobile phone close to your body when it's switched on; and being skeptical of claims that protective devices or "shields Since the phone will automatically boost its RF output to counter the effects of the shield to attain the best degree of connectivity, they can actually increase RF radiation
