Former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, asserted that President Bola Tinubu utilized his office to bolster the All Progressives Congress (APC) rather than mediating peace in Rivers State. In a recent statement, Lamido criticized the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) for passivity, questioning their allowing Tinubu, a political adversary, to intervene in the dispute between Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and former FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Lamido expressed dismay at the PDP's leadership permitting its opponent to settle internal political differences. He questioned the effectiveness of the PDP's NWC and accused them of being inert in the Rivers saga, suggesting that Tinubu had assumed an unexpected role within the party.

Furthermore, Lamido contended that Tinubu's involvement was not genuine peace-brokering but rather a strategic move to advance the APC's interests. He criticized the PDP's leadership for allowing a political adversary to influence its fortunes in Rivers State, emphasizing the potential negative repercussions of this decision.

Lamido urged the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) to address the embarrassment caused by Tinubu's actions and called for a proactive stance against the perceived illegality and unconstitutionality of the peace accord. He advised the PDP to follow Chief Edwin Clark's lead in challenging the agreement through legal means.

In a parting note, Lamido advised Governor Fubara to disregard the signed document, contending that it was done under unfavorable conditions. He suggested discarding the agreement, emphasizing Tinubu's conflicting roles during the peace meeting.
