...Gov. Diri swears in two new RDA Chairmen
...assures Bayelsans of sustainable power supply 

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today presided over the State Executive council meeting at Government House, Yenagoa and inaugurated Mr. Andrew Ikputu Kirifa and Mr. Christian Egbo as Chairmen of Ogboin South/Tarakiri and Ogbia central Rural Development Authorities.

"Local government and Rural development authorities are very important because it is always termed as the grassroot of governance.

So, you are carrying the banner of this Prosperity government to your Rural development authorities. I charge you to discharge your duties dutifully and humbly to the people at the grassroot.

We are aware our state is in darkness for no fault of the government of Bayelsa State. I have put the Commissioner for Power and Managing Director of Bayelsa State Electricity company on their toes working with the Transmission Company of Nigeria(TCN) to ensure that we will not continue to be in darkness.

And beyond that,I have equally put them on their toes to see how we can have our own Independent Power supply in Bayelsa State. That process is on”, Gov. Diri stated.
