BAYELSA POST PRIMARY SCHOOLS BOARD RESTATES COMMITTED TO TEACHER- RECRUITMENT WITHOUT PREJUDICE

- RELEASES FIRST BATCH OF SUCCESSFUL 500 TEACHERS WITH POSTINGS

- REFUTES CLAIMS OF NEPOTISM; ASSURES CREDIBLE & TRANSPARENT EXERCISE

The first batch of five hundred successful! teacher applicants for the ongoing Bayelsa teachers recruitment has been posted at the premises of Education House Annex, Yenagoa and online social media hplatforms.

Subsequent lists of shortlisted candidate for documentation in batches shall be further posted for public access from Monday just as postings for successful employees have been made public with more to come.

Successful applicants who had gone through the process and are yet to see their names are advised to exercise patience as adequate measures are being taken to complete as soon as possible in compliance with the Prosperity  Government's drive for secondary education as fairness, transparency and credibility are the benchmarks adopted.

A statement by the Chairman of Post Primary Schools Board, High Chief Millionaire Asangba, urges prospective teacher employees to steer clear the premises of the board for reasons of crowd control and security until they are contacted as shortlisted for documentation as names shall be made public for documentation in batches according to Local Government and Subject Areas from Monday, next week.

The PPSB boss assured of trust reposed on him, and the committee, as they are poised to ensure that only those who meet the basic education qualifications of being Bayelsa indigenes within the employment age bracket, are final engaged into the service.

"Being invited for documentation doesn't mean automatic employment. It is the final stage to verify and certify prospects deserving the teaching job. Those found culpable during this process have been dropped, that's why not all those who took part in the documentation were posted finally."

Chief Asangba stated that the process is devoid of any partisanship as being peddlesld by a few social media opposition 'data boys.' as those shortlisted finally are purely based on merit so as to give our children the desired education equality the state deserves.

"Documentation process for prospective employees is meant to weed the list and ensure that only deserving candidates scale through. We didn't post names earlier because we wanted to take more precautions to ensure that those who finally get  letters of appointments meet the basic criteria of indigeneship, age and prescribed education certification. The committee  carries out thorough investigations on prospective employees to ensure that only those on clear standing are finally posted to various public secondary schools and sent for refresher training course," Asangba reiterated.

Meanwhile, while calling on Governor Douye Diri to increase the number of prospective teacher employees from about a thousand to double the number and more, a cross section of successful employees expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Prosperity Government of Senator Douye Diri for taking the bold step to engage youths of Bayelsa origin through permanent teaching jobs after over two decades of neglect in teachers' recruitment.

They expressed confidence in the process and lauded the efforts of the government in ensuring that only qualified education graduates strictly across the eight local government of Bayelsa state are engaged for the teaching job
