Simon Ekpa, the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, recently provided insights into how the Biafra Liberation Army (BLA) successfully captured terrorists as part of ongoing efforts to protect the lives and properties of Biafrans.

In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Ekpa explained that the operation was a clear warning to those opposed to the actualization of Biafra, reinforcing the determination of the BLA to defend the region from external threats.

Capturing Terrorists to Safeguard Biafra

According to Ekpa, the capture of the terrorists was a strategic move by the Biafra Liberation Army, aimed at sending a strong message to detractors and those who perpetuate violence in the region. He emphasized that the safety and security of Biafrans remain the top priority of the BLA, and any attempts to destabilize the region would be met with decisive action.

"This operation is a warning to those who continue to cause havoc and violence in Biafraland. The Biafra Liberation Army stands firm in its mission to protect our people," Ekpa said.

Call for Demilitarization of Biafraland

Ekpa reiterated his long-standing call for the demilitarization of Biafraland, stressing that peace can only be achieved when Nigerian security forces are withdrawn from the region. He urged the Nigerian government to recall its military presence, which he claims is responsible for the ongoing violence and oppression of Biafrans.

He further warned those involved in the killings within the region to cease their actions, stating, "Recall all security forces serving Nigeria within Biafraland and killing our people. Those of you still killing our people in Biafraland, you may not be this lucky next time."

A Message of Caution to Perpetrators of Violence

In his message, Ekpa highlighted the BLA's commitment to ensuring that the people of Biafra are safe from external aggressors. He issued a stern warning to those engaged in violence against Biafrans, stating that the captured individual would be released as a gesture of goodwill. However, he cautioned that such leniency may not be extended in the future.

“He was captured by the Biafra Liberation Army. He will be freed today to join his family as a gift to his people. Those who continue to kill our people should consider themselves warned,” Ekpa declared.

December 2 Declared as Biafra Declaration Day

This announcement follows Ekpa’s earlier declaration of December 2, 2024, as Biafra Declaration Day. The date is expected to mark a significant milestone in the pursuit of Biafra’s independence, with Ekpa encouraging supporters to remain steadfast in their commitment to the cause.

As the situation unfolds, the Biafra Liberation Army continues to assert its role in defending the region, while Ekpa remains vocal in his calls for peace and the withdrawal of Nigerian military forces from Biafraland.
