Bayelsa Govt unveils contractor for NDU 10,000 capacity Convocation arena
The Bayelsa State Government has unveiled Messrs Architectonic LTD owned by a reputable Ijaw Son, Architect Reuben Okoya as the contractor to handle the proposed 10,000 Sitting Capacity Convocation Arena for the State-owned Niger Delta University (NDU).
The legacy project was recently approved and awarded by the State Executive Council led by His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, Executive Governor of Bayelsa State for the University.
Confirming the development, the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah, said his visit to the University was to assess the site of the proposed project.
According to Emelah, "the delegation from the Education Ministry was received by the Vice Chancellor, Niger Delta University,Prof. Allen Agih alongside Principal Officers of the University and taken to the proposed site for assessment."
"As part of the visit, I earlier officially unveiled the contractor to handle the legacy project,Messrs Architectonic LTD owned by a reputable Ijaw Son Architect Reuben Okoya."
"I extended warm greetings from His Excellency, Visitor to the University who is passionate about the project to give the Institution a befitting Convocation Arena of good standard and as such, awarded the project to a Bayelsan with a proven track record of quality service delivery and excellence."
Dr. Emelah, was joined by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Simon-Peter Okene, Director Finance and Accounts, Mr. Joe Sikpi, Ag. Project Manager, Engr. Goodluck Ofodah and a Member of the Governing Council of the University from the Ministry of Education, Mr. Faith Ogbara among others.
