The Dangers of Frivolous Court Orders in Nigerian Politics

Frivolous court orders have become tools in the hands of corrupt politicians, undermining the legal system and threatening national stability. Recently, the judiciary has been used by politicians like Nyesom Wike to obtain questionable injunctions that serve their interests. For instance, Wike masterminded several injunctions across the country to manipulate the political process.

Example: PDP Leadership Crisis and Court Injunctions

One such instance involves the appointment of an acting national chairman of the PDP. The courts have intervened recklessly, issuing injunctions that favor party moles engaging in anti-party activities. The corrupt judiciary must be held accountable.

Judicial Integrity and Investor Confidence

Corrupt judicial officers must be disciplined by the National Judicial Council (NJC) to prevent further damage to the country. No investor will trust a nation where courts operate without integrity, prioritizing personal enrichment over justice.

Consequences for Corrupt Practices

Judicial officers engaging in such misconduct must understand that severe punishments await them and their future generations. PDP will not be coerced by corrupt courts into retaining disloyal members.

Damagum remains suspended and has been replaced. He should join his paymaster, Wike, in the APC and leave the PDP.
