Introduction
Nigerians Encouraged to Support President Tinubu’s Development Vision
The Director General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Comrade Umar Tanko Yakassai, has urged Nigerians from all regions and backgrounds to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. According to him, the President’s reform-driven leadership is Nigeria’s most pragmatic opportunity in decades to reverse the consequences of past economic mismanagement and political instability.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Integrity Support Group (ISG) to the TSG’s national secretariat in Abuja, Yakassai emphasized that President Tinubu’s agenda is focused on long-term prosperity for all citizens. The visit formed part of an ongoing nationwide grassroots mobilization effort designed to consolidate public support and build alliances among various pro-Tinubu networks.
Tinubu as a Reformer and Nation-Builder
In his remarks, Yakassai described President Tinubu as a reformer with a clear national development blueprint. He explained that the administration's strategy focuses on economic revitalization, infrastructure expansion, governance reform, and social inclusion. The President, he said, is working to reshape Nigeria into a competitive and self-sustaining economy.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not only a reformer; he is a nation-builder,” Yakassai stated. “His commitment to repositioning the country through bold policy decisions is not mere rhetoric. The Renewed Hope Agenda is a national call to action. It is designed to dismantle the architecture of poverty, inefficiency, and inequality that was entrenched by failed political actors now seeking to return to power through questionable coalitions.”
Fuel Subsidy Removal: A Tough but Necessary Decision
Highlighting one of the most significant reforms of the Tinubu administration, Yakassai lauded the removal of the fuel subsidy. While acknowledging the initial hardships faced by citizens, he insisted that the long-term benefits far outweigh the short-term discomforts.
“The subsidy regime drained our national resources for decades,” he said. “Its removal has resulted in higher revenue allocation to both state and local governments. With these additional funds, governors and local councils now have greater fiscal capacity to deliver vital infrastructure and social services.”
He added that states are beginning to implement projects that were previously financially impossible, and assured Nigerians that the economic discomfort is temporary. Market forces, he said, are already adjusting, and the Tinubu administration is working quietly but effectively to stabilize fuel and commodity prices in the near term.
Solidarity from the Integrity Support Group
Dr. Oke Idawene, National Chairman and Convener of the Integrity Support Group, led the ISG delegation and expressed gratitude to the TSG for its leadership. He reaffirmed the group’s unwavering commitment to the success of the Tinubu administration, and declared full support for the President’s second term come 2027.
“President Tinubu is a man of uncommon vision and capability,” Dr. Idawene said. “We are committed to working with all pro-democracy forces to ensure that Nigerians continue to benefit from the reforms being rolled out. Our presence in 13 states is just the beginning—we are expanding our operations to all 36 states and the FCT to deepen national support.”
Extending Grassroots Mobilization Nationwide
Dr. Idawene emphasized that the ISG is not just politically driven. The group is also focused on civic education and public enlightenment campaigns. It is engaging with community-based organizations, youth groups, women’s associations, and traditional institutions to raise awareness about the administration’s ongoing reforms.
He said this approach is necessary to counter false narratives being peddled by desperate political opponents seeking a return to power through coalition alliances that Nigerians must reject.
“We are not just campaigning for a second term,” he noted. “We are on a mission to secure the future of Nigeria. Our work is anchored on patriotism, truth, and responsibility to the people.”
Commendation from Distinguished Party Leaders
The event was also attended by Professor Senator Nora Ladi Daduut, a prominent member of the Tinubu Support Group. In her remarks, she praised the efforts of both the TSG and ISG in mobilizing national support for President Tinubu’s administration.
Senator Daduut described President Tinubu as a bold, courageous, and visionary leader whose experience has positioned Nigeria for long-term economic stability and inclusive growth. She urged Nigerians to remain patient and look beyond the current economic pains, noting that structural reforms often come with transitional discomforts.
“Let us educate our communities and correct misinformation,” she said. “The President is tirelessly working behind the scenes, and in due time, every Nigerian will witness the fruits of his labour. The future is bright.”
Rejecting Failed Politicians and Opportunistic Coalitions
Comrade Yakassai reiterated the need for Nigerians to reject political actors who contributed to the country's past failures and are now attempting to rebrand themselves through new coalitions. He said such individuals and groups are not genuinely interested in the national good but are instead focused on regaining power at any cost.
“Never again shall we allow those who stole our future to lead Nigeria,” he declared. “These are the same people who crippled our economy and left our infrastructure in decay. President Tinubu is making the hard decisions they were too afraid—or too compromised—to make.”
Uniting for National Development
The meeting concluded with a strong call for national unity and collective responsibility. Comrade Yakassai urged Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliation, to place national interest above partisanship. He encouraged civil society groups, development partners, and ordinary citizens to play their roles in supporting the government’s efforts to transform the nation.
“This is our country. We have no other. Supporting President Tinubu is supporting Nigeria’s future,” he said. “Let us move forward with faith, unity, and determination.”
Conclusion: Progressive Reforms for a Promising Future
From the removal of fuel subsidies to the floating of the naira, President Tinubu has taken bold steps that many before him feared to take. These reforms, though challenging at first, are foundational to a prosperous Nigeria. His administration continues to demonstrate that transformative leadership requires courage, vision, and integrity.
As support groups intensify their efforts across the federation, the message is clear: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu means well for Nigeria, and with collective effort, the Renewed Hope Agenda will yield dividends for all.
