PRESS STATEMENT

The attention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), North Central Zone, has been drawn to a faceless media publication currently being circulated. Ordinarily, such baseless publications do not deserve a response. However, in order to set the records straight and properly guide the public, we wish to state as follows:

1. The North Central Zonal Executive and the entire leadership of the zone have no knowledge of any meeting or resolution as claimed in the said publication.


2. At no time did our great party take such a position. The official position of the PDP remains as clearly adopted from the report and recommendations of the Zoning Committee, which was duly ratified by the National Executive Committee (NEC) at its 102nd meeting.



In view of the above, the North Central Zonal Executive Committee and leaders of the zone hereby advise all party stakeholders and the general public to disregard the said publication in its entirety.

We also wish to assure stakeholders that a meeting will soon be convened by the relevant organs of the party, where all issues will be properly ventilated and placed in their correct context for the progress and unity of our great party.

Finally, we appeal to all members and stakeholders to remain steadfast, focused, and united as the time approaches to actualize the legitimate aspiration of the North Central Zone to produce the next National Chairman of our great party.
