URGENT-WARNING-TO-PDP

URGENT ADVICE AND WARNING BY THE PDP CONCERNED PATRIOTIC STAKEHOLDERS TO THE CRITICAL ORGANS OF THE PDP ON THE DELICATE ISSUE OF ZONING OF THE PDP NWC OFFICES FOR THE ELECTIVE CONVENTION OF NOVEMBER 2025.

In our last publication, we strongly advised the PDP Zoning Committee to maintain the status quo ante by maintaining the existing zoning arrangement of December 2021 so as not to run into stormy political weather. 

Such existing zoning arrangements should be maintained upto December 2029. 

The details of the report of the said Zoning Committee is not known and it is even doubtful whether the committee have prepared their final report at the time of this our important statement of advice and caution.

That is why this very advice is very necessary and should be taken seriously by the relevant Organs of the PDP as a necessary moderation on the report of the zoning committee.

We are accordingly advising the following organs of the party to heed to our candid advice and maintain the existing zoning arrangement so as to avoid further problems within the party:

PDP GOVERNORS’ FORUM 

PDP NASS CAUCUS,

PDP NATIONAL CAUCUS,

PDP BoT, and

PDP NEC.

We would recall some of the pieces of advice we gave in our earlier publication for the guidance of the above named organs of the party:

1. The maintenance of the status quo ante will make the job of the Zoning committee easier to accomplish and free the crucial assignment from biases, prejudices, preferences, insinuations and innuendos.

2. Any change in the existing Political Equilibrium will immediately spark-off further crises that are avoidable.

3. For instance, the North Central Geopolitical Zone has made it abundantly clear by their resolution at their last Critical Stakeholders’ Meeting in Abuja FCT, that the PDP National Chairmanship Position must be returned back to the Zone for the stability of the party and that their demand is anchored on the principles of Equity, Justice and Fairness.

4. Each of the Six Geopolitical Zones should still be given the exact NWC slots as given in December 2021 but the incoming candidates may be different from the old ones so as to address the local peculiarities of the zones.

5. Crises must be avoided at this crucial stage of the party’s Political Development. A change in the existing political equilibrium regarding NWC portfolios’ zoning will definitely ignite a fresh wave of crises within the PDP, make no mistakes.

6. This our warning should be taken seriously by the Critical Organs of the party; the PDP Governors’ Forum, the PDP NASS Caucus, the PDP National Caucus, the PDP Board of Trustees, BoT; and the PDP NEC.

7. The ambition of one man must not and can not be pursued to the detriment of the party’s Political fortunes.
