PORT HARCOURT – In a heartfelt tribute reflecting deep-rooted ties and national pride, the National Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Amb. (Dr.) Godknows Boladei Igali, has formally congratulated renowned political economist Prof. Pat Utomi on the landmark occasion of his 70th birthday.

The felicitation, contained in an official letter dated February 9, 2026, followed the main celebratory event which took place on Friday, February 6th.

A Story of Grace and Patriotism

In the letter, Amb. Igali described Prof. Utomi’s attainment of "three scores and ten" as no ordinary feat. He attributed the milestone to a "story of God’s unblemished love, grace, and faithfulness," noting with pride that the professor remains in good health and soundness of mind.

Amb. Igali particularly emphasized Utomi’s dual identity as both a distinguished "son of the Niger Delta" and a "true patriot of the Nigerian dream." He lauded the Professor’s lifelong commitment to the nation, stating:

"Truly, you have shown great courage that is worthy of emulation."

Spiritual Blessings and Future Horizons

Invoking biblical encouragement, the PANDEF Chairman cited Philippians 1:6, expressing confidence that the "good work" begun in Utomi’s life would be brought to completion.

The tribute concluded with prayers for the celebrant to be ushered into "greater horizons beyond the imaginations of men," moving from "strength to strength and successes heaped on successes."

The 70th birthday, often referred to as a Platinum Jubilee in certain cultural contexts, marks a significant era for Prof. Utomi, who continues to be a vocal advocate for governance reform and economic development in Nigeria
