SOME OF THE CAUSES

+ GENETIC CASES

There are many genetic causes of eye problems, some of them are-

*RETINITIS PIGMENTOSA:

A group of inherited disorders that affect the retina, causing progressive vision loss.

GLAUCOMA:

A group of eye conditions that can lead to damage to the optic nerve and vision loss.

CATARACTS:

A clouding of the eye's lens that can cause vision loss.

MACULAR DEGENERATION:

A condition that causes damage to the macula, the part of the eye responsible for central vision.

NYSTAGMUS:

A condition characterized by involuntary eye movements.

COLOR BLINDNESS:

A genetic condition that affects the ability to perceive certain colors.

ALBINISM:

A genetic condition that affects the production of melanin, leading to a lack of pigmentation in the skin, hair, and eyes.

These are just a few examples of genetic causes of eye problems, and it's important to consult with a medical professional for a proper diagnosis.

KERATOCONUS:

A genetic disorder in which the cornea thins and bulges outward, causing distorted vision.

CONGENITAL CATARACTS:

A rare genetic disorder characterized by the presence of cataracts in infants or young children.

CONGENITAL GLAUCOMA:

A rare genetic disorder characterized by high pressure in the eye, which can lead to damage to the optic nerve and vision loss.

OPTIC NERVE HYPOPLASIA:

A congenital disorder characterized by underdevelopment of the optic nerve, which can lead to vision problems such as nystagmus and reduced visual acuity.

LEBER’S CONGENITAL AMAUROSIS:

A rare genetic disorder characterized by severe vision loss at birth or in early infancy, caused by mutations in genes involved in the development and function of the retina.

OCULOCUTANEOUS ALBINISM:

A group of inherited disorders that affect the color of the skin, hair, and eyes, caused by mutations in genes involved in the production of melanin.

X-LINKED RETINOSCHISIS:

A rare genetic disorder characterized by a splitting of the retina, caused by mutations in the RS1 gene on the X chromosome.

It's important to note that many genetic eye disorders are rare, and a proper diagnosis can only be made by a genetic counselor or ophthalmologist.

ANIRIDIA:

A congenital condition where the iris is absent or only partially present, which can cause nearsightedness and light sensitivity in the eyes.
