Gov. Diri attends Funeral Church Service of  Late Gov. Akeredolu

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri  joined other sympathisers for the funeral church service of Late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the St. Andrew Anglican Church, Owo, Ondo State.

Accompanied  by his friends and aides, Governor Diri, paid his last respect to his former colleague.
Other prominent leaders who attended the service are; Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Governors of Kwara, Edo, Delta, Oyo, Lagos, Ekiti, Ogun, Osun, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Benue, and host Ondo governor, former governors, Serving and former Ministers,  Serving and former National assembly members, captains of industries, National leadership of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), and other top government officials and senior citizens of Nigeria.
The funeral church service witnessed the rendition of soul lifting hymns, praise and worship songs by the congregation  and the Church Choir.

In a sermon at the funeral  service, Rt. Revd. Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi urged the congregation to live an exemplary life worthy of emulation.
He emphasized the importance of humans to exhibit the Godly virtues of love, peace, kindness, tolerance and hard work.

He described the deceased as a courageous and good man who impacted positively on the life of his family members, community, local government area, state and country.
Late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was born on the 21st of July, 1956, in Owo, Ondo State. 

"Aketi", as he was fondly called by friends and admirers was the Chairman of South-west Governor's Forum and Chairman of Southern Governor's Forum. 
He died on the 26th of December, 2023 and survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and other relatives.
