Rivers State Governor Similanayi Fubara has addressed the recent Appeal Court ruling that reinstated 27 pro-Wike lawmakers. Speaking to journalists in Khana, Khana Local Government Area, Governor Fubara conveyed his thoughts and reassurances to the people of Rivers State.
Governor Fubara opened his remarks by expressing his confidence in divine guidance and provision, referencing Psalm 23:5. "I know that a lot of you will be wondering what is going on and all that. Government has its own challenges. If you go to the book of Psalm 23 verse 5, in the Bible, it said that God prepares a table before you; it can be before anybody. But there is an underlined word that should be noted there: it said ‘in the presence of your enemies’. So, it means that nothing comes easy."
He assured the public that his administration remains steadfast in its commitment to good governance, regardless of the challenges faced. "I want to assure everyone of you and the good people of Rivers State, that we are not deterred. We have made our promises, we will continue to give you good governance, no matter how difficult it is. But, like I said before, the worst is over. We are moving on to ensure that we continue to provide what is needed for the development of our state."
Governor Fubara emphasized the administration's focus on key sectors: health, education, and agriculture. He announced plans to visit various project sites across the state, including Degema, Ahoada, Omoku, and Rumuigbo, to assess the progress of the Modern General and Psychiatric Hospitals.
The Governor expressed satisfaction with the progress of the zonal hospital project in Khana. He noted that this project would benefit not only the people of Khana and Gokana but also his own constituency, Opobo/Nkoro. He assured the public that the administration is committed to completing and utilizing the facility to provide quality healthcare.
Governor Fubara highlighted that his administration inherited several non-functional zonal hospitals. To address this, funds were released last month for the reconstruction and expansion of four zonal hospitals, aiming to enhance healthcare facilities for the people.
In conclusion, Governor Fubara's statements underscored his administration's resilience and dedication to fulfilling its promises to the people of Rivers State, ensuring continued progress and development despite the obstacles
