Bayelsa State's Commissioner of Tourism Development, Honorable John Alla, has expressed his profound appreciation for the visionary leadership of his principal, Governor Douyi Diri, and Sen Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for convening the ongoing strategic three-day retreat for the State Executive Council in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The retreat, aptly themed "Consolidating The Dividend of Shared Prosperity," is designed to galvanize the governor's flagship ASSURED Agenda, a comprehensive development framework aimed at transforming Bayelsa State into a haven of prosperity and growth.
According to Alla, who is also in attendance, the A.S.S.U.R.E.D Agenda is a masterstroke that encapsulates seven critical pillars: Agriculture Revolution, Sports Development, Security, Urban Renewal, Robust Healthcare, Energy Generation, and Diversifying Education. These pillars, he emphasized, will serve as the bedrock for consolidating the dividends of shared prosperity, ensuring that the benefits of governance are equitably distributed among Bayelsans.
Alla underscored the significance of the ASSURED Agenda in driving rapid development in Bayelsa State, particularly in the areas of Security and Urban Renewal. He noted that these two pillars will be instrumental in positioning Bayelsa State as a premier tourist destination in Africa, leveraging its vast natural resources and rich cultural heritage to attract visitors and investors alike.
The commissioner stressed that the retreat is a clarion call to action, beckoning all Excos and stakeholders to recommit themselves to the noble cause of serving the people of Bayelsa State with renewed dedication, passion, and expertise. By doing so, he posited that the state will remain on the trajectory of rapid sterling development, characterized by inclusive growth, prosperity, and happiness for all.
