Samuel Nwanosike, a prominent member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, has lauded the historic achievement of the newly elected governor, Siminalayi Fubara, in the recent gubernatorial elections. In a significant electoral feat, Fubara secured victory in all 23 local government areas (LGAs) of the state, an accomplishment unprecedented in the political history of Rivers State.

A First in Rivers State Politics

Fubara’s clean sweep of all 23 LGAs marks the first time any governorship candidate has won in every local government area of Rivers State. Nwanosike, who is also the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, emphasized the magnitude of this achievement, attributing it to the solid foundation laid by the outgoing governor, Nyesom Wike.

“This is the first time in the history of our state that a governorship candidate has won in all 23 LGAs. It is a testament to the work and leadership of Governor Wike, whose reputation and achievements in office inspired this overwhelming support for his chosen successor,” Nwanosike said in a statement.

Continuation of Wike’s Legacy

Nwanosike stressed that the people of Rivers State placed their trust in Fubara, largely due to his association with Governor Wike. During his two terms in office, Wike implemented numerous developmental projects and initiated policies that significantly improved the state's infrastructure, economy, and social welfare. These accomplishments, Nwanosike argued, were instrumental in shaping voters' decisions during the elections.

“The people of Rivers State trusted Governor Wike’s judgment. They recognized the progress and development he brought to the state, and they believed that Fubara, his chosen successor, would continue along the same path of progress,” Nwanosike added.

A Unified Mandate for Progress

Fubara's victory across all LGAs sends a clear message of unity and confidence in his leadership. The PDP’s ability to rally widespread support across the state reflects the electorate’s desire for continuity and further advancement. Nwanosike noted that this outcome is not just a personal victory for Fubara, but a collective endorsement of Wike’s administration and its enduring impact on the state.

“Governor Wike’s legacy of good governance is the foundation of this remarkable victory. The people have chosen to follow the same path of progress by electing Fubara, and this shows the strength of the PDP in Rivers State,” he concluded.

Looking Forward

As Sim Fubara takes office, he is expected to build on the successes of the Wike administration. The unprecedented support from all LGAs provides him with a strong mandate to govern and pursue policies that will continue to drive development across the state. Rivers State now looks to the future with optimism, confident that the new governor will maintain the momentum of growth and stability set by his predecessor
