Nigeria @64/Bayelsa @28: Gov. Diri announces plans to build 1,000 housing units, commits to new power plant
His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, has announced his administration's plan to build 1000 affordable housing units for the people across the 8 Local Government Areas.
In a broadcast to the people of the state to mark the nation’s independence and 28th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State, Gov. Diri assured of investment in an independent power plant, potable water and other key projects in roads, education, health, skills acquisition and empowerment.
While saluting the vision of the founding fathers, the Governor said the state had made steady progress since 1996 and that the newly launched ASSURED Agenda of his Prosperity Administration would stir more development across various sectors.
“In the past four years, we have made significant strides. These include but are not limited to remarkable achievements in peace and security, sports, education, healthcare, road infrastructure, human capacity building, empowerment and skills acquisition. These are all a testament to the power of unity, cooperation, and a shared vision for development.”
