WHO IS A GOOD LEADER?


How do we identify a good leader? There are some key qualities a good leader must have to be called a good leader. In this article we shall avoid a single definition about a food leader, rather we shall take a look at some qualities or characteristics that shows that one is a good leader. Below are some of them according to Walden.


1. GOOD LEADERS SPEAK WITH CLARITY:


Having effective communication is the first step in managing a group, especially at work. 


2. THEY TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT THEY DO:


Many effective leaders aren't hesitant to convey how much they enjoy what they do. 


3. THEY ARE UNCONCERNED WITH POPULARITY 


In fact, you can be less effective if your main priority is earning everyone's approval. 


4. THEY MAINTAIN AN OOEN MIND:


Being open to new ideas is another quality of an effective leader. Good leaders are adaptable and flexible, not resistant to change. They are personable and open to hearing ideas that differ from their own.


5. THEY ARE ELECTED BY THEIR PEOPLE:


Although managers may report to higher-ups, strong leaders understand that their first responsibility is to give their staff the tools and resources they need to perform their duties as effectively and efficiently as possible. 


6. THEY ARE UPBEAT AND MOTIVATING:


Positive leaders inspire others. If there are performance gaps, they take the time to advise and train the individual before rewarding them for a job well done. Good leaders inspire their team members to perform at their highest level in both good and bad circumstances.
