I was saying before the election that if Diri loses, I will relocate my mother to Abuja - Jonathan
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the former president of Nigeria, has revealed that he planned to relocate his mother to Abuja if Douye Diri had lost the election. He revealed that his wish before the election was for the governor to complete his remaining four years because he had done well.

In the video posted by AIT, Jonathan urged the people, including the opposition, to accept the governor in good faith and work with him. He added that the main focus should be drawn to the issue of peace and stability in the state, not the election.

According to him, "The way you have won free, fair, it's clear that the Bayelsans have seen what you have done and what you're doing, and they've also seen your heart. And they say it's good you complete your four years. To me, that has been my wish even before the election. We believe the governor won the election, and we plead with our people to accept it and work with the governor. There should be nothing that will push the state backward. We should think about the development of the state, starting with the issue of peace and security in the state. Which within this last period, three years plus, almost four years, there's been significant improvement in terms of cultism, kidnapping, and so on and so forth. I was saying before the election that if Diri loses this election, maybe I'll relocate my mother to Abuja."
