Court of Appeal Dismisses Appeals by Pro-Wike Local Government Chairmen
The Port Harcourt division of the Court of Appeal has dismissed two appeals filed by local government chairmen loyal to former governor Nyesom Wike, citing a lack of merit.
The appeals, registered as CA/PH/137M/2024 and CA/PH/145M/2024, were brought forward by Hon. Enyiada Cookey-Gam and six other appellants. These appeals challenged the decisions of a lower court regarding the extension of their council leadership tenures.
After a thorough review, the Court of Appeal determined that the arguments presented lacked substantive merit and, therefore, decided to strike out the appeals.
