Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), recently voiced sharp criticism against the administration of President Bola Tinubu. Eze described Tinubu's leadership approach as a "roller-coaster race" toward becoming one of Nigeria's most "clueless" leaders, according to a report by DAILY POST.

Reaction to Bayo Onanuga's Statement

Eze’s remarks came in response to comments made by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. Onanuga had argued that Nigeria would be in a worse position under the leadership of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, suggesting that Atiku's policies were unproven and would foster cronyism, benefiting only those close to him.

Eze dismissed Onanuga’s claims, stating that shifting the focus to Atiku’s hypothetical leadership would not distract Nigerians from the realities of the Tinubu administration. He argued that the challenges facing Nigeria are not due to Atiku’s lack of solutions but are instead a result of Tinubu’s alleged deficiencies in planning and governance.

Criticism of Tinubu’s Economic Management

The former publicity secretary asserted that the Tinubu administration has failed to address Nigeria’s pressing economic problems, with high inflation rates and escalating poverty levels creating widespread hardship. He painted a stark picture of the situation, highlighting that some Nigerians have been forced into desperate measures due to what he described as Tinubu’s “managerial ineptitude.”

“Today, Nigerians are dying in droves, and those who survive are committing suicide because of the managerial ineptitude of one man,” he stated, suggesting that Tinubu’s policies have exacerbated the suffering of ordinary citizens.

"No Other Leader Would Have Caused Such Turmoil"

Chief Eze went on to claim that no other Nigerian leader, including Atiku Abubakar, would have led the country into the difficult situation it currently faces. According to Eze, Tinubu’s administration lacks a strategic plan, making its failures unsurprising to the Nigerian populace.

“Let the truth be told, no other Nigerian, including Atiku, would have plunged this nation into the mess that Tinubu has driven this nation to. Tinubu is clueless. He had no plans, so the failures of his administration are not matters of surprise to the populace,” he declared, underscoring his view that Tinubu's governance has left Nigeria in a precarious position.

Conclusion

Chief Eze’s remarks contribute to the ongoing debate around President Tinubu's policies and leadership style. His statements reflect a broader sentiment of dissatisfaction among certain political figures and citizens, who view the current administration's efforts as ineffective in addressing Nigeria's economic and social challenges.
