The landscape of Bayelsa State is set for a historic transformation as Ambassador (Dr.) Godknows Boladei Igali, OON, FNIA, National Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), officially expressed his profound appreciation to His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, for the upcoming commissioning of landmark infrastructure projects.

This diplomatic gesture follows an invitation extended to the esteemed Ambassador to witness a series of groundbreaking activities on Friday, April 10, 2026. The events, which will be presided over by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, mark a pivotal moment in the developmental trajectory of the Niger Delta region.

In a formal communication, Ambassador Igali lauded the strategic vision of the Governor in establishing the Bayelsa Independent Power Project. He described the initiative to harness the state’s abundant natural gas resources for independent electricity generation as a "profound" achievement. This move is expected to bolster industrialization and improve the quality of life for residents, positioning Bayelsa as a leader in sub-national energy sufficiency.

The Ambassador further highlighted the monumental significance of the newly completed 630-metre Angama-Oporoma Bridge and the New Yenagoa City Road 1. For decades, the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area—a primary hub of oil production—remained isolated from the rest of the state. Ambassador Igali emphasized that the completion of these projects realizes a long-held dream for the people, effectively integrating the region into the national road network and fostering economic synergy.

Categorizing these achievements as "legacy projects," Ambassador Igali noted that the impacts would be felt for generations. He extended his warmest salutations to the Governor, affirming that the people of Bayelsa State and the wider Nigerian federation would perpetually remember these contributions to regional stability and growth.

As the state prepares to host President Tinubu, Ambassador Igali conveyed his best wishes for a rewarding presidential visit, expressing optimism that these milestones will herald a new era of prosperity and greater opportunities for all Bayelseans.
