An eyewitness has provided a harrowing account of how bandits transported several students following their abduction from a school in the Ahoro-Esiele community, located within the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, on May 16, 2026.
Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, the witness, identified as Kehinde Akintola, disclosed that the assailants initially stormed the school premises on motorcycles. In addition to their own transport, the bandits seized motorcycles belonging to local residents to carry some of the abducted children away from the scene.
According to Akintola, the operational tactics of the bandits included forcing several of the children into the trunk of a vehicle belonging to the school's principal. The assailants then drove the vehicle to a nearby riverbank, where the children were removed before the vehicle was set on fire.
Recalling the incident, Akintola stated that the attackers chased down and captured the victims, aggressively commandeering local transport to facilitate the mass abduction. She noted that upon reaching the riverbank, the bandits offloaded the children from the principal's car and immediately set the vehicle ablaze before proceeding further into captivity with the victims.
