GREAT NEWS: KIDNAPPED OYO PUPILS, TEACHERS REGAIN FREEDOM AFTER 50 DAYS IN CAPTIVITY

​The kidnapped pupils and teachers from Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have finally regained their freedom after spending more than 50 days in the den of their abductors.

​The development was confirmed on Friday in a social media post via X (formerly Twitter) by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President.

​“Finally, the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo, have been freed by their abductors,” the presidential spokesman wrote.

​While details of their release remain sketchy as of the time of filing this report, the news has brought a wave of relief to the affected families and the community, who have been in distress since the victims were forcefully taken over a month ago.

​Security agencies are expected to brief the public on the circumstances surrounding the rescue or release of the victims, as well as their current medical state, in due course.
