ASUU NDU Enters Day 2 of Indefinite Strike: "No Justice, No Classes!"
WILBERFORCE ISLAND, BAYELSA — Academic activities at Niger Delta University (NDU) have come to a total halt as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), NDU branch, enters Day 2 of an indefinite strike action.
Under the rallying slogan, "United We Stand, Divided We Beg!", the union has made it clear that lecture halls will remain closed until their core demands are fully met by the authorities.
Key Demands Behind the Industrial Action
The strike banner outlines three non-negotiable demands put forward by the academic body:
- Total Implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU Agreement The union is demanding the immediate and complete fulfillment of all terms established in the renegotiated agreement between the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) and ASUU.
- Full Payment of CATA Arrears Lecturers are calling for the immediate disbursement of all outstanding Clinical and Academic Transport Allowance (CATA) arrears owed to union members.
- Payment of 19 Months Unpaid Arrears of 25/35% Wage Award Members are pressing for the settlement of nearly two years (19 months) of withheld arrears resulting from the 25% and 35% wage adjustments previously promised by government authorities.

With the declaration of "No Justice, No Classes!", lecture halls, laboratories, and administrative offices across the campus have fallen quiet.
