HOW YOU CAN HAVE DIGITAL SAFETY & CYBERSECURITY By Dave Ikiedei Asei | Wisdom Tide News | October 6, 2026 In an increasingly connected world, digital safety is no longer just a technical concern for IT departments—it is a vital life skill. Every daily action, from banking on a mobile device to checking email on public Wi-Fi, creates a digital footprint that cybercriminals can target. Protecting your personal information requires shifting from a passive mindset to a proactive, practical strategy. 1. Master Password Hygiene and MFA Weak or reused passwords remain the single largest entry point for unauthorized account access. Use a Password Manager: Human memory cannot securely manage dozens of complex, distinct passwords. Tools like Bitwarden, 1Password, or Dashlane generate and store unique 16+ character passwords. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): MFA adds a second layer of defense beyond your password. Best: Hardware keys (e.g., YubiKey) or Authenticator Apps ...
